Brook Farm in rural Suffolk is Mel and her family's escape from city life but is also a holiday let. Despite house hunting with the view to finding a significant 'project', both Mel and Simon instantly fell in love with the farmhouse which was built in 1540. The property has undergone a decade of extensive restoration with stunning results; ancient beams, huge fire places and historical gems such as original butchers' hooks and original engravings, all which a perfect backdrop for Mel's styling.

Adding an eclectic mix of eBay treasures, furniture design classics, fantastic lighting, interesting art, home comforts (feather pillows and pure French bed linen) and a mustard yellow sofa (!), Mel has created a simple but sumptuous home. If you wish to rent Brook Farm, visit Airbnb.
